The Most Important Meal of the Day in Costa Rica

In Costa Rican, breakfast is the great leveler. It is the most egalitarian and universal of cultural experiences. Whether you are a volunteer in Costa Rica living in the home of a local, a backpacker staying at a hostel, or a tourist with accommodations in a four start hotel, you will almost certainly have the same thing for breakfast.

Returning to the Mediterranean

The Mediterranean Sea is a place that many dream of seeing, and rightfully so. It is one of the most beautiful seas that this planet has to offer. The water, in most places, is just the right temperature to enjoy activities such as swimming, surfing, sailing, water skiing, and almost any other water sport that you can think of. Also, I am unaware of any dangers that lurk below the surface, like many other seas out there. I am sure that they exist, but they rarely present themselves as an issue that one should be concerned about.

It’s Always Sunny in Edinburgh

If “Whisky is liquid sunshine,” as George Bernard Shaw claimed, then Edinburgh has more sunny days a year than any tropical island. The making of whisky is a vital, fascinating, and extremely enjoyable part of the history and culture of the city, and indeed of all of Scotland. Enjoying a dram of whisky is thus an essential part of any trip to Auld Reekie (Old Smoky) as the city is fondly called by some. Indeed, enjoying whisky might not be part of a trip but the entire trip, as tours and attractions that focus on the distilled elixir abound.
